Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 May 2026
Myhora is built around the principle that your birth data is sensitive. This policy explains what we collect, how it's used, where it's stored, and what choices you have.
1. What we collect
Birth profile: name, birth date, birth time, and birth place (city or coordinates). Required to calculate your Vedic chart. Stored locally on your device in an encrypted keystore and synced to our server in encrypted form to enable cloud AI analysis. Myhora has no login or account creation — your data is associated only with a random device identifier.
Device identifier: a randomly generated ID that is the only thing tying your data on our server to your device. Not linked to any third-party identifier.
Contact information (optional): email address, only if you submit the in-app contact form, used solely to reply to your support inquiry. Myhora does not use this email to create an account or sign you in.
App usage analytics: aggregated events such as which tab was opened, whether a subscription paywall was viewed, and which timing decisions were made. No event contains free-text input or birth data.
Website usage analytics: page views and link clicks on this marketing site via Firebase Analytics. Only loaded after you accept the cookie banner. You can withdraw consent anytime via the 'Cookie preferences' link in the footer.
Notification token: a push notification token used solely to deliver hora-window reminders you've enabled. Apple Push Notification service on iOS; Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android.
2. How we use it
To compute your personalised Vedic chart, hora calendar, Dasha periods, Sade Sati status, and timing recommendations.
To deliver AI timing analyses you request, by sending an anonymised summary of the relevant chart factors (not your name or birth data) to our AI provider, Anthropic.
To send push notifications you've opted into.
To improve the app based on aggregated, non-identifying usage statistics.
3. AI provider
AI timing analysis and life-chapter generation use Anthropic's Claude models. Only the minimum chart-derived context needed for the analysis is sent (e.g. active Dasha lord, dignity, hora planet). Your name, exact birth date, birth time, and birth place are not transmitted to Anthropic. Anthropic does not train its models on data submitted via the API.
4. Storage and security
Birth data and app preferences are stored locally on your device, in iOS Keychain / Android Keystore for the most sensitive fields and in an on-device SQLite database for derived state.
Server-stored data is held in a PostgreSQL database with encryption at rest and in transit. Access is limited to authorised Myhora staff.
Authentication uses short-lived access tokens and rotating refresh tokens.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers.
We share data only with service providers strictly required to run the app: Anthropic (AI inference, as described above), Apple (iOS push notifications and App Store billing), Google (Android push notifications and Play Store billing via Firebase, plus aggregated analytics via Firebase Analytics), and our cloud hosting provider for server infrastructure.
6. Your choices
Erase your data from Settings → Delete my data, or send a message through Support with your device identifier — visible in Settings → About — so we can locate the right record.
Opt out of analytics from Settings → Privacy.
Turn off push notifications from your device settings.
7. Children
Myhora is not directed to users under 13 (under 16 in the EU/UK). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us through Support and we will delete it.
8. Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will notify you in the app and update the date above before changes take effect.
9. Contact
